Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/24/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry RN – New York Start Date: February 17, 2026 Location: Rochester, New York Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 3x12 day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, every other weekend required Highlights: - 26-bed specialized unit focusing on post-PCI, pacemaker, AICD, post-MI, and cardiac pharmacological interventions - Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for optimal quality care delivery - Epic charting system utilized throughout 528-bed tertiary care hospital - 12-hour orientation with comprehensive pre-start modules (up to 5 billable hours) - Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams - 13-week contract with flexibility for two pre-approved time-off periods Requirements: - Active New York State RN license in hand prior to submission (no exceptions) - Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience - Previous charge nurse experience required - Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted for this role - Epic charting experience is mandatory - Current BLS certification required - Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 or higher - Must reside more than 75 miles from facility location - Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers experienced travel nurses the chance to work in a highly specialized cardiac unit within a well-resourced tertiary care hospital.
