Advocate Paid vacation and paid holidays Job Description The SML
Specialist prepares business related analyses and research for
Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Logistics. The
individual prepares forecasts, analyzes trends and related to
Planning or Scheduling, and uses the analyses to compile and
prepare reports, graphs and charts of data and/or ensure efficient
production. REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES: Activities and duties will
vary dependent upon functional area assigned. Activities may
include, but are not limited to: Responsible for developing,
maintaining, and reporting production information to increase
productivity and efficiency. Responsible for the development of the
schedule for production or manufacture. Develops the master
schedule in a manufacturing/production environment to determine the
highest rate at which products will be planned and stocked prior to
shipment or final assembly. monitors sequence of fabrication,
assembly, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific
portions of the product for guidance of production associates.
Prepares shop work orders for materials and product processing and
coordinates with schedulers to ensure that items are being
processed according to specifications and time requirements.
Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.
Make comparative analyses in order to determine the most effective
and efficient options for scheduling, inventory, and production.
Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing
activities to ensure production. Prepare and process requisitions
as appropriate. Conduct distribution and network studies, monitor
inventory and analyze requirements in order to develop strategies
to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates. Maintain
appropriate records and prepare reports. Prepare forecasts and
analyze trends in manufacturing. Prepare capacity model scenarios
for production capacity readiness and peak season planning.
Participate or lead process effectiveness and continuous
improvement projects Serve as primary liaison for Jersey finishing
to a business unit to ensure scheduling needs are met. Act as a
focal point for interpretation of related policies and procedures.
Interface with customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives
to ensure requirements are met. Implement lean concepts and
continuous improvements regarding scheduling systems and processes.
Health & Safety: Consistently works in a safe manner with regard to
self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems. Performs general
housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and
assists other areas as required. ELS: Continuously reviews current
processes and searches out improvement methods to improve
product/process quality and reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary
work that adds no value to the work or process. Supports safety,
quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. Teamwork: Assists
and supports other team members in meeting department and site
goals. Participates and shares in performing all tasks necessary to
run the facility. Contributes and participates in team
decision-making. Provides support in project work and other special
requests. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics,
Finance or Supply Chain Management, Or 3 years previous scheduling,
planning, or Supply Chain experience, preferred with other degree
General Supply Chain, Materials Management, and Logistics
knowledge. Excellent analytical, mathematical, organizational,
verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking,
negotiation skills and problem solving skill set. Ability to
interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute
overall requirements. Strong communication skills and the ability
to build relationships with all functions and levels of the
organization. Proactive and collaborative style with a sense of
urgency and ownership in performance Ability to work well with all
levels of management and employees. Takes ownership for service
related issues Problem solver, amid ambiguity. Ability to work well
with all levels of management and employees. Familiarity in process
documentation and improvement. Results oriented focus with proven
ability to deliver results. Flexibility and willingness to initiate
change. High customer focus: ability to proactively identify and
meet customer needs. Ability to use ELS problem solving tools to
identify root cause. (A3 Thinking) Excellent project management
skills with ability to prioritize competing initiatives APICS
certification, ELS certification and/or Green Belt preferred.
Additional Information The salary range for this position is
$52,050- $69,400 / year. The hiring base salary range above
represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this
position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary
within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below
the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a
candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training,
and location, as well as the job scope and complexity,
responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for
the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
