Schedule Weekends: 10:30 AM - Midnight Friday, 8 AM - Midnight Saturday, 7:30 AM - 4 PM Sunday with call/holiday. Job Description The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures as ordered by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort. This position requires a thorough understanding of radiologic equipment and procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Responsibilities - Verify patients' identity and review physician orders prior to procedures. - Use x-ray equipment to capture images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physician directions. - Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns. - Position and sometimes assist patients, including lifting and moving those with limited mobility. - Operate radiologic equipment safely, minimizing radiation exposure to patients. - Monitor patient status and adapt to their age-specific needs. - Generate high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. - Report any equipment malfunctions to management promptly. - Utilize electronic patient information systems to ensure accuracy in patient records and image identification. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure - Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology. - Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). - Possession of a New York State license (or eligibility to obtain one before starting). - Two years of X-ray Technologist experience, preferably in a Level 1 trauma center. - Ability to lift or move patients and stand for extended periods. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills. - Compassionate disposition and a collaborative team player.
