individuals on their journey to recovery. We provide comprehensive
services, including residential support, counseling, peer support
and community outreach to empower individuals to overcome mental
health and substance use disorders and lead fulfilling lives. Our
mission is to foster a supportive environment that promotes healing
and long-term recovery. The Job Placement Specialist provides job
development and placement services to individuals recovering from
chemical dependency and/or mental illness. Partners with community
employers to make appropriate job matches, offers incentives to
employers, and attends community meetings to promote services.
Responsibilities · Completes intake for new referrals and submits
appropriate documentation to funders (e.g., ACCES, NY SOARS) within
required timelines. · Assesses job readiness, teaches job seeking
skills, and develops individualized employment plans. · Consults
with East House Career Counselors and acts as an agency resource on
community job trends and opportunities. · Serves as a liaison to
ACCES, NY SOARS, and other organizations for job placements. ·
Coordinates timely intake meetings and reports submission per
funder guidelines. · Facilitates job placements and submits
placement documentation within 9 months of referral. · Provides
post-placement support and job retention skills training. ·
Addresses employment-related challenges including transportation,
childcare, or on-the- job issues. · Contacts and maintains
relationships with employers to support job placements. · Informs
team of job openings and assists with referrals for NY SOARS
clients. · Enters accurate data in WITS and submits monthly billing
summaries. · Attends NY SOARS provider meetings and shares updates.
· Maintains documentation to meet agency and funder requirements. ·
Tracks contracts and employment outcomes; completes monthly
reporting to ACCES and NY SOARS. Other Duties · Follows all
applicable policies, federal and state laws, and East House
compliance standards. · Collaborates with the Office of Ethics,
Compliance & Quality to address non-compliance, and document
corrective actions. Note: This job description may not cover all

without notice. Requirements: Licenses/Certifications · Valid NYS
driver’s license, safe driving record, and access to a personal
vehicle for work purposes. Other Skills/Abilities · Ability to
assess job readiness, teach, coach and motivate clients to obtain
and retain employment. · Knowledge of various job types and
employment settings. · Basic computer literacy including email,
online searches, and document handling. · Intermediate Microsoft
Word and Excel skills (e.g., tables, graphs, mail merge,
formatting). · Experience using multiple database systems.

environment. Occasionally subjected to pressure due to time
demands. May have to travel to various program locations which may
