Job Description Job Description Self-Direction DSP - Minoa Area (Job ES/BC) Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in the Minoa, NY area with a 33-year-old man. He is looking for a dedicated individual to provide him with transportation and support him with working on Social/Communication Skills and life skills, both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Transporting after work and/or to medical Appointments as needed, Shopping, eating at restaurants, meal preparing supervision at home, and household chore supervision, with prompting encouragement and praise. His current interests are story writing, comic books, War Hammer (Tabletop game), Japanese Anime, going to the movies, using his computer and playing video games. Favorite stores are 5 Below, Barnes and Nobles, Larger Than Life and the Art Store. We are looking for individuals who have experience in the field, are reliable, patient, a great communicator, enthusiastic and able to work independently. Staff must be ok with Dogs. Reliable transportation is required for this position. Hours: Monday - Friday Some days may require picking him up from work to start services around 3pm, while other days may be starting at his family home earlier. Roughly 10 to 20 hours a week, depending on his work schedule.
