*Position Summary: *The Electrical Engineering Tech assembles prototype CNC machines for a special project that is taking the company in an entirely new direction. Our ideal candidate will have a high mechanical aptitude, be a self starter and hungry to learn. This is an opportunity to become an expert in the latest and greatest products that we create.*Why Gleason: ** $5,000 Hiring Bonus* Opportunities' to advance from this role into field service, assembly management, run off technician and more!* 6% 401k match* HSA with employer contribution of up to $1,400* Comprehensive benefits package* 80 hours of PTO- no accrual necessary.*Job Responsibilities: ** Build prototype and beta machines (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, lubrication, etc).* Collaborate with the documentation team to develop assembly work instructions and runoff checklists.* Perform prescribed testing and qualification of the equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, lubrication, pneumatic, and electrical systems as well as all cycles, safety requirements and special customer requirements.* Communicate with Engineering and other groups to resolve issues.* Identify and document problems utilizing Gleason's issue tracking process and suggest solutions.* Make gear development changes and corrections as required from inspection data.* Identify and resolve issues regarding the equipment outlined above.* Demonstrate machines during customer visits and provide training when necessary.* Qualify machines in customer plants and provide training when necessary.* Develop prototype test fixtures.* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, and oversee compliance to established departmental standards.* Disassemble equipment outlined above, when necessary, to repair or troubleshoot.* Support Field Service organization through consultation and/or travel.* Work independently on new equipment.* Interface with internal and external suppliers and customers.* Actively participate in a positive manner on technical reviews, design reviews, scheduling, and machine readiness evaluation.*Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): ** Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, define and implement solutions that prevent recurrence of the problem.* Interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.* Comprehend and effectively communicate verbally and in writing to specific audiences while using good judgement regarding appropriateness of communications.* Detail oriented with the ability to communicate technical information effectively with other functional engineering areas and other downstream departments within Gleason Works Rochester.* Work collaboratively in a team environment, interact in a positive manner with customers and co-workers.* Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and deliver results.* Willing to cross train and learn.*Job Specific Skills: ** Setup and interpret measurement equipment (i.e. dial/electronic indicators and chart recorders).* Strong mechanical aptitude.* Ability to perform machine startup desired (i.e. high-tech power up, I/O checks, etc.).*Preferred Education/Training/Experience: ** Associates degree in technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.* Bachelor degree in technical field desired.* 5+ years of relevant experience.*About Gleason: *Gleason is a global, advanced manufacturing company in the Gear Services Industry that helps some of the most recognized companies in the world solve problems.
