Rochester Optical was established in Rochester, New York in 1932. The owner, at the time, saw a growing need for protective tactical eyewear for the Armed Forces, aircraft pilots, and police officers. Later, Rochester Optical became one of the few military prescription glasses frame manufacturers in the country and supplied both the Army and the Air force with combat-ready ballistic eyewear for soldiers. After WWII, the tactical eyewear company expanded its services to include creating and selling prescription eyeglasses for the public. Rochester Optical quickly became one of the best glasses frames and prescription eyeglass manufacturers in the area, producing many popular glasses frame styles of the time with polarized tints.Since then, Rochester Optical has added a large, full-functioning optical lab, added a wholesale business line and stock lens facility, and created wearable device solutions using augmented reality technology.Rochester Optical is poised to be an optical leader and innovator in the eyewear space, and we continue to expand in our national and international reach with our headquarters located in Rochester, NY.The Order Fulfillment Technician is responsible all areas of operation within the lens warehouse including picking orders, assembly of eyewear, packing completed product for shipment, and preforming quality assurance and control functions to ensure accuracy of al completed orders.Essential Job Functions:--- Accurately and efficiently selecting and preparing components to fulfill client orders--- Operate, monitor, and maintain the equipment throughout the production and assembly process--- Follow all established production procedures to ensure the integrity of the finished product--- Ensure that all inspections and testing of components, labeling, sub-assemblies and finished products are performed in conformance to written specifications--- Verify the complete, accurate, and proper performance of all Quality Assurance functions, including documentation, to ensure compliance with company standards--- Evaluate performance and take corrective measures as needed ensuring a high level of performance is achieved and maintained--- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations--- Accurately and efficiently pack boxes to fulfill client orders--- Scan final product into production through use of a RF Scanner--- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste--- Adhere to all employee policies--- Additional duties as directedSkills & Abilities:--- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, goal oriented production atmosphere--- Ability to achieve production goals, meet deadlines and thrive in a high pressure environment--- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and able to change duties quickly to ensure ROMCO customer satisfaction--- Familiarity with ERP system/warehouse management systems preferred--- Superior attention to detail--- Highly organized and able to prioritize--- Self-motivated to take ownership of multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision--- Proficient with Microsoft productsPhysical Requirements:--- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.--- Ability to work for long periods of time while standing--- Frequent bending, standing, and stretching required--- Ability to perform repetitive motion with the hands and armsEducation & Experience:--- High school diploma or equivalent required--- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred--- Optical knowledge and experience helpfulCompensation is commensurate with experience.
