Job Description Title: Maintenance Technician Hours: Full time Shift: A Shift Reports to: Production Supervisor General Duties : The Maintenance Technician ensures operation of machinery by repairing and completing preventative maintenance requirements on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. Essential Functions: Jobs assigned to maintenance technicians may vary from day to day. Depending on the job assigned, the maintenance technician may be responsible for any or all of the following: Maintain the highest quality work to continuously insure customer satisfaction Ability to troubleshoot injection molding machines with the ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics Be familiar with and be able to troubleshoot hydraulics Read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical issues with machines Locate repair parts and negotiate with vendor on best price Perform and document machine Preventative Maintenance as scheduled Perform and document service work on all secondary auxiliary equipment Chillers, desiccant dryers, mold water heater, etc. Not required: Familiarity with tower maintenance and compressor maintenance Coordinate with technical support of machine manufacturer Perform plant and equipment electrical and plumbing maintenance requirements as needed Maintain and document spare part inventory Order repair and maintenance components/supplies as needed Perform any metal cutting, drilling, welding, milling as needed Familiar with VanDorn, Sumitomo, JSW, Engel and Cincinnati machinery. Have all necessary tools to perform the job Not required: Ability to troubleshoot robotics Operate forklift/overhead crane Other duties as assigned by Supervisor The above represents the core functions for which maintenance technicians will primarily be held accountable. Maintenance technicians, as are all employees are responsible for: Maintaining a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional, cooperative manner with customers, vendors, all co-workers including subordinates, peers, supervisors, and managers. Adhering to and maintaining all ISO 2015 procedures related to the job, all work instructions, as well as adhering to all company policies, rules, and regulations. Minimum Requirements Have at least 5 years experience with injection molding as a maintenance technician. Must possess ability to perform all necessary communication requirements in English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences and memos, as well as ability to write simple correspondences is required. Basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and common fractions are required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred Supervisory Responsibility: None Physical Demands Hand / Eye coordination Handling (holding, grasping, etc.) --- manual manipulation Wrist motion (repetitive flexation/ rotation) Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor Reach across or upward with hands and arms to retrieve parts or boxes of product Stoop and/or crouch to reach and move parts or boxes of product Lift 40 pounds.
