this role, you will work as a business partner using industrial
hygiene and ergonomics knowledge, skills and abilities to analyze
hazards, provide recommendations and assist various operations
including retail, manufacturing and distribution. to implement
controls that will protect the health of our people. You will be
responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation and
continual improvement of companywide industrial hygiene programs,
establishing and promoting safe and healthy working conditions and
effective control measures, ensure a safe work environment and
fully comply with policies, procedures, and state and federal
regulations.---What will I do?
- Measure, audit, and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard
controls and hazard control programs to ensure compliance with
safety and health standards and requirements
- Develop/conduct sampling and exposure assessments for the
Industrial Hygiene programs to identify and present recommendations
to leadership on controls that would mitigate potential exposures
in the work area
- Serve as the Respiratory Protection Program Administrator, the
Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and administer the noise program,
including coordinating annual audiograms
- Lead the company with the selection of Personal Protection
Equipment (PPE) based on the hazards involved and the task to be
completed. Advise in the proper way to wear and care for the PPE
supplied
- Build and conduct training sessions and share presentations
about occupational health development, ensuring employees are aware
of the instituted policies to drive a safety focused culture
- Provide technical and program administration assistance and
direction to less experienced personnel
- Partner with operational leadership, to set goals and technical
direction, provide results and guidance for various EHS
initiatives, make recommendations for cross-functional solutions
from integrated input from Store Operations, Corporate,
Distribution and Manufacturing -
- Complete special projects and assignments as needed
- Review and approve design of equipment and workspaces
- Conduct ergonomic risk assessments, technical analyses and
communicate recommendations to operations to reduce musculoskeletal
risk factors
- Collaborate with leaders to identify potential health issues
and advise them of any opportunities to resolve them in a timely
manner
- Provide expertise in evolving health requirements, guidelines
and regulations, while staying current with ACGIH, AIH, NIOSH,
etc.
- Actively participate in internal and external seminars,
technical meetings, professional societies and maintain contact
with appropriate standard-setting agenciesRequired Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of Environmental, Health and/or Safety
experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field -
- CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) -
- Strong ability to maneuver through complex situations
effectively while influencing appropriate stakeholders Systems
aptitude -Preferred Qualifications:
- Distribution and/or Manufacturing experience -
- Food Industry experience -
- CSP: Certified Safety Professional - BCSP: Board of Certified
