Job Description - UPREP IT Internship Overview: The position of
the UPREP IT Intern is to assist the school in providing students
and staff with a technological environment which supports student
academic achievement, while gaining skills and knowledge which will
provide a blended educational experience. The knowledge gained
during the internship will provide the intern with the skill set
needed to seamlessly move into a professional career in the IT
industry. Responsibilities:
Ability to lift 40 lbs. Support the
technology team with the maintenance of hardware, software and
other systems as needed Troubleshoot issues with equipment, i.e.
printers, and computers Run software updates and backups as
requested Participate in the deployment of new desktops, laptops,
chromebooks, or applications Research technology solutions and
pricing as required Research unusual issues the district may
encounter Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
Must be enrolled at a
college/university with a major in Information Technology/Computer
Science, etc., and maintain a 2.5/4.0 average Working knowledge of
Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7/8 and XP), - Mac helpful but
not required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007/2010 or
2013Proficiency in Google applications (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Basic understanding of a Microsoft Windows environment is helpful
Good understanding of computer hardware Basic understanding of how
computer networks work Ability to work alone and in a team
environment Must be detail oriented Ability to seek out solutions
independently Must have their own transportation to/from
locationCompensation: This is an unpaid internship. If college
credits are offered, we will work with the intern -and their
College/University -to provide the candidate with the appropriate
hours and requirements needed to satisfy their internship course.
Internship requirements must be provided to us by the
