CNC Operator Machinist Job Responsibilities:Generates machined parts by programming, setting up, and running a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; meeting quality and safety standards; recording data; maintaining equipment and supplies.CNC MILLS5-10 years' experience setting up and running vertical machining centers capable of making modifications to the program such as cutter comps and tool length offsetsAble to read prints and understand mics and recognize GD&T call outs and understand the different tools utilized in machining Be punctual and prepared to work Having experience running Haas and Hardinge machining centers a plusCNC Operator Machinist Job Duties:--- Prepares machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).--- Organizes stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; forecasting needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.--- Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; configuring tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; computing requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; confirming part programs.--- Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; positioning vices; tramming heads.--- Loads feed mechanism by raising stock into position.--- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; complying with international standards.--- Maintains specifications by monitoring drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; recognizing malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.--- Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.--- Maintains equipment by executing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; diagnosing malfunctions; calling for repairs.--- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and sharing information, abnormalities, and continuing needs.--- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.--- Updates job knowledge by taking part in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.--- Accomplishes organization goals by taking ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring possibilities to add value to job accomplishments.CNC Operator Machinist Skills and Qualifications:Conceptual Skills, Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Controls and Instrumentation, Supply Management, Tooling, Coordination, Inventory Control, Attention to Detail, JudgmentYou should be proficient in:
