DescriptionThe Summer Transition Program (STP) is a six-week
intensive academic program that consists of academic courses,
workshops, seminars, and community-building for up to 40 incoming
first-year NTID students. We are seeking a full time Assistant
Program Coordinator for STP. The program will be heldJuly 7, 2023
until August 18, 2023. The Assistant Program Coordinator reports to
the Program Coordinator, and will oversee night and weekend student
employees who support STP student activities. Minimum
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in any field, or equivalent experience
- Must demonstrate fluency in sign language skill
- Proficiency in written English skill
- Valid and clean motor vehicle report and driver's license
- Experience with or willingness to learn Kronos time card
system
- Skills in time management and experience in maintaining
organization
- Ability to relate well to people and have an appreciation for
diversity and pluralism
- Must be available fromJuly 3rdthrough August 15th, 2023.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Program Coordinator will:
- Supervise Program Assistants (PAs)to:
- Encourage collaboration and team work
- Schedule evening and weekend events/activities
- Ensure duties are completed
- Communicate student-related issues with other STP staff
- Support their professional relationships with STP staff and
students
- Support them to appropriately respond to any emergency
situation
- Supervise Resident Advisors (RAs)to:
- Plan and conduct weekly floor meetings
- Ensure duties are completed
- Ensure they are meeting each week with STP staff and Resident
Coordinator
- Supporting their professional relationships with STP staff and
students
- Support them to appropriately respond to any emergency
situation
- Manage student employees time cards
- Support students' interpersonal skill development
- Address conflict resolution needs between all students
- Supervise during field trips and evening/weekend
activities
- Complete incident reports as needed
- Assist with scheduling and setting up tours and educational
presentations for STP students
- Transport STP students on and off campusDatrose is an equal
