Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer III will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining the cell layouts and assembly methods for gear manufacturing machines. The successful candidate will have experience in setting up new manufacturing areas for moderate levels of production, performing capacity studies to determine proper staffing levels, and creating assembly and qualification instructions.Job Responsibilities:* Define assembly area requirements and develop layouts for moderate volume machine assembly.* Perform capacity analyses to ensure that resources are available to support the assembly volume.* Actively participate in design reviews and advocate for Manufacturing.* Oversee and participate in prototype machine builds in preparation for production.* Develop and document assembly and qualification procedures, including defining tooling and fixtures required for efficient and safe assembly.* Develop inspection criteria, document requirements, and verify with Assembly and Runoff personnel.* Maintain bills of material for machine assemblies.* Facilitate cross-functional production meetings* Participate in product improvement efforts that identify opportunities for gains in efficiency and manufacturability* Coordinate implementation of process improvements.* Identify potential cost saving measures.Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):* Proven ability to manage large manufacturing projects and work closely with Machine Assembly and Qualification personnel.* Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo) is a plus.* Experience with managing data in an ERP system.* Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and controls schematics.* Experience interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.* Experience with BOM creation and maintenance.* Experience with Engineering Change Orders and understanding the impact of changes on the manufacturing operation.* Ability to define tooling and fixture requirements and implement process improvements.* Demonstrated experience working in a moderate volume manufacturing environment as a technical lead.* Ability to organize, work independently, and manage time effectively to achieve production goals.* Proven ability to make decisions and implement process changes as necessary.Education/Training/Experience:* Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering* 5+ years of relevant experience.Professional Certificates, Licenses or Registrations:* NAComputer Skills:* Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)* Outlook* Internet* Project Management Software* SAPTravel Requirements:* NegligibleOFFICE ENVIRONMENTPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that would need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job in an office environment.
