Description:Machine Assemblers are responsible for the production of subassemblies and full machines to exacting tolerances through the use of engineering drawings and ISO work instructions. The tasks include mechanical, optical, electrical and software/computer operations. The role requires mechanical aptitude in precise assembly. Successful candidates are those that come to the job with a work ethic to maintain high levels of quality and craftsmanship.Machine Assembler II is the second of three levels of assembler job roles at QVI. It represents a journeyman-level position with an expectation of competency in the following:Sciences:1. Intermediate math: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, decimals, percentages, geometry, trigonometry2. Basic electronics concepts: ESD, grounding, capacitors, resistors, pcba s, power supplies, motors, wiring3. Units of Measure (English and Metric) and conversions between4. Reading & Writing in English at a high-school graduate levelTools:1. Basic hand tools: wrenches, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, razors,2. Advanced tools for shaping and forming materials: files, grinders, lapping plates3. Basic metrology instruments: calipers, micrometers, scales, dial indicators, gage blocks4. Advanced measurement instruments: Collimators, Electronic Levels, Electronic Indicators, and digital multi-meters.5. Power tools: drills, drill presses, belt sanders, grindersOther Skills:1. Commitment to care and use of sensitive, delicate, tools and instruments.2. Use of analytical skills for identifying problem areas and creative ways for resolution.3. Organization and neatness of assigned assembly work area.4.
