Job Summary
An Operator CNC will be responsible for working closely with
his/her manager, supervisor and or team to monitor and produce high
precision components. The job requires attention to fine detail and
an ability to maintain consistent process proven by frequent in
process inspection. In addition to processing parts, operators are
required to maintain equipment, documentation and tooling
required.
Job Responsibilities
Core Job Duties:
Run machine and meet daily production targets
Regularly required to take detailed measurements with Micrometers,
Calipers, Indicators, Height Gauges, Thread Gauges, Pin Gauges,
CMM, Smart Scope, and Comparator.
Communicate with Lead or area Manager about any issues or problems
in production immediately
Process parts or components on jobs in que at a minimum of 100% of
your available time
Ensure that all required data entry is occurring for each job and
that all required information is being accurately entered
Adhere to check good pass good inspection criteria and in process
inspection for all jobs
Strict adherence to trained process / work instruction and
ownership of communicating any inconsistency, questions, or
issues
Clean and maintain machinery and work area in department daily
Deburring parts.
Area Specific Job Duties:
Start up and warm up machines
Replace cutting tools and inserts
Touch off tools
Ability to perform basic part set-ups.
Accurately measure parts and determine adjustments needed
Control cutter and work offsets.
Inspection of finished parts to determine parts meet
specification.
Train, assist, and support other employees running jobs to keep
parts in tolerance.
Provide Inspection documentation, review notebooks, in process
inspection documentation, and insure inspections are being recorded
at production machining centers.
Question and review any issues with Machine Shop Supervisor, and
Technical Lead in your area.
Must be available to work unscheduled overtime to meet production
needs.
Qualifications, Requirements and Competencies
Educational Requirements:
GED or High school diploma
Vocational education or solid work experience.
Minimum Requirements:
5-10 years of relevant experience
Familiarity with computers to include but not limited to Microsoft
Office
Proficient math skills
Ability to follow directions and attention to detail
Capable of understanding mechanical drawings
Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced and high-stress
environment
Good mental dexterity and decision making
Excellent communication skills
Analytical troubleshooting / problem solving
Good time management skills
Experienced in Machine Set-ups
Understanding Mechanical drawings and GD&T
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability
to communicate effectively to team members and management.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to stand, reach with hands and arms and to use hands and
fingers to handle, maneuver parts
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel,
crouch, talk and hear
The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and
ability to adjust focus. May involve prolonged periods of magnified
inspection (eye strain)
Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger
dexterity, including ability to grasp
The employee is frequently required to use the computer
The job will require regular lifting and moving of 30-50 lbs.
Work Environment:
May involve the use of oils and solvents.
Subject to some soilage and irritation from cleaning solutions.
(Lab Coats provided)
Generally, works in a clean environment and works to maintain the
environment as such.
Safety Glasses are required
May require area specific safety training
This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level
in the work environment is usually loud.
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and
fumes or airborne paper particles.
May work at different workstations as needs require
