Job Summary: This position reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to drive cost reductions through negotiations and skillful coordination with the suppliers. Summary of essential job duties:

  • Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships; communicate regularly to maintain an understanding of timelines and activities which impact supply chain
    • Act as a primary partner to the manufacturing operation by understanding build schedules and managing supply chain activities to increase efficiency and eliminate downtime
    • Take responsibility for accurate and on-time delivery of parts and components; follow-up on PO's with suppliers and manage delivery date expectations as necessary with all relevant stakeholders
    • Understand material specifications and quality metrics affecting assigned parts and components; work collaboratively to resolve quality issues with suppliers
    • Develop strong relationships with suppliers and communicate regularly; manage date pull-ins and push-outs on an ongoing basis
    • Plans and schedules deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules/business demands by working with planning, operation's and shipping/receiving teams.
    • Creates and maintains mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement, usually being the single source of contact to the supplier.
    • Monitors supplier performance, communicates and takes action to maintain high levels of supplier performance.
      • Continuously seek out new ways to improve the purchasing process
      • Ability to analyze and predict shortages, implement process to mitigate the shortages, and drive results to ensure no future shortages Education and Experience
        • Bachelor's degree and five (5) or more years of related work experience; experience within a technology manufacturing environment is highly preferred
        • Must be capable of working independently, in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
        • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
        • Excellent communication skills
          • Computer skills in: Excel, Word, Epicor, and other basic software applications
            • Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task effectively
            • Ability to solve problems and think outside the box to solve complex supply issues.
            • Experience in Machining, sheet metal and electro optical assemblies.
            • Must be driven and self-motivated
            • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to quality
            • Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR/ITAR requirements
            • Builds stable working relationships with manufacturing, quality engineers, material management and program office regarding procurement demands by early involvement with programs and suppliers to determine risk mitigation actions for critical path parts
            • Proactively drive the supply chain to supply and exceed our production floors needs and eliminate any interruptions. Additional Requirements:

Environment & Physical Demands:
                • Professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machine; noise level typical of a standard office environment
                • Prolonged sitting, computer and telephone use, as well as standing, filing, bending, reaching and lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds
                • Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, etc.)

Travel: This position may require a minimal amount of travel (Domestic) - 10% or less per year Compensation & Benefits: RPO offers highly competitive, total compensation packages linked directly to employee's professional experience.
