Position Title Content Strategist Overview The content strategist oversees content strategy, development, and implementation for the College's website. The primary responsibility for the content strategist is to create new and leverage existing marketing and communications assets to be used across the College's website based on best practices, strategy, and research. In addition, they manage and update existing content across the website, work with key campus liaisons regarding web content, and work with our web team to ensure seamless functionality of sites at all times. As a member of the Office of Marketing and Communications, this role works daily to ensure brand guidelines, web standards, and reputation management are top of mind in the work that they do. Job Responsibilities The main responsibilities of this position include the following:--

  • --Develop and oversee an overall web content strategy based on user needs and stakeholder objectives.--
  • Assess and improve current content and content workflows and develop best practices for creating high quality and accessible content.--
  • Lead search engine optimization efforts, monitor and assess web traffic, and inform website information architecture and design solutions.--
  • Serve as the main point of contact to campus web stakeholders and work with them on a content strategy for their specific web presence in alignment with the College's larger goals.--
  • Work with web team to perform routine maintenance, facilitate necessary updates, conduct usability testing, and troubleshoot and develop workflow and optimization strategies.
  • Ensure all branding guidelines are maintained across the College site.
  • Create and maintain digital content style guides, standards, audience personas, guidelines and training materials to reflect strategic goals, benchmarking, user research, web standards and digital trends and collaborate with marketing team and content contributors to ensure all digital content meets marketing and brand standards
  • Create and deliver analytics reports on meaningful data related to goals and conversions site-wide including:
    o Track visits to online applications, downloads of program brochures, top news stories, form completions, etc.--
    o Manage campaign tracking for print and digital campaigns to assess ROI and work with director and agency partner to design and optimize paid campaign landing pages and develop specific copy and content for those pages.-- Education / Experience Bachelor's Degree in relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of experience with web content strategy or creating/writing content for digital media. In addition:
    • A strong understanding of content management systems and web development technologies. Experience with HTML , CSS , and web accessibility standards a plus.--
    • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop. Some knowledge of Illustrator and Final Cut Pro or other video editing software preferred.--
    • Experience with Google Analytics a plus. Excellent project/time management skills - including planning/prioritizing, analysis, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills.--
      • Strong responsive visual design skills, layout, typography and web graphic standards. ---
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.--
      • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.--
      • Strong customer service skills - work well under pressure and with a variety of people.--
      • A grasp of word of mouth/digital marketing, and acute knowledge of emerging trends and technologies.--
      • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working effectively and collaboratively with team members.--
      • Must be able to think strategically and work proactively as well as reactively.--
      • Willingness to experiment and ability to deal with uncertainty.--
      • Ability to foster collaborative and productive working relationships across the College.--
