To maintain and supervise the general accounting department.
This includes the areas of general ledger, payroll, accounts
payable, cash management, fixed assets and taxes.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:
Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the
operating principles. Responsible for the accounting system,
procedure, and records for Career Systems Development. Responsible
for the operation of general accounting, payroll and accounts
payable and supervises related staff. Responsible for audits,
including but not limited to annual CPA firm audit, bank insurance,
tax and various government audits, OIG, etc. Responsible for
reviewing inter-company accounts between Career Systems Development
and parent company. Assists in preparing Cost Accounting Standards
Board Disclosure Statements. File necessary tax returns and provide
all required tax information to parent company. File all returns
(other than income tax) that are required to do business in a given
location, state department, registrations, etc. Maintain Dun &
Bradstreet information and SAM registration. Responsible for
off-site storage arrangements. Assist with ensuring that the
contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that
financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational
requirements. Update and implement all necessary business policies
and accounting practices; improve the finance department's overall
policy and procedure manuals. Interviews and selects staff,
approves promotions, merit increases, etc., within the scope of
responsibility. Update codes and accounts in Kronos. Work with
centers on timesheet issues (copying, completing, auditing). File
quarterly payroll taxes, both withholding and unemployment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business
Administration. Minimum of five to seven years of experience in
general accounting and allied departments. Two to three years in
supervisory accounting position.
Preferred: MBA in Accounting, Finance, etc. highly
