The Opportunity

As Ortho continues to grow, we are seeking a Lab Specialist Training Manager, to be responsible for the development, execution and effectiveness of commercial training strategy for Lab Specialist (LS) teams in North America. Specifically, this position will be responsible for development of in role training strategies that ensure that LS's are crossed trained on Clinical Labs and Transfusion Medicine lines of business, LS productivity and TOR goals are met, LS effectiveness for non-technical touchpoints that will enable greater retention and growth of existing customers. Additionally, this position will be responsible for execution of LS New Hire training and mentorship of new associates.

The Responsibilities

  • Partner with Senior LS and Sales Training Manager, NA LS Managers, and L&D team on the creation, execution, and effectiveness of 18-24 month learning calendar that ensures commercial effectiveness of LS organization.

  • Development, execution and effectiveness of training strategies that ensure that LS's are cross trained in both LOB's.

  • Development, execution and effectiveness of training strategies that ensure LS productivity and TOR goals are met, along with LS effectiveness for non-technical touchpoints that will enable greater retention and growth of existing customers.

  • Development, execution and effectiveness of training strategies that ensure LS effectiveness for non-technical touchpoints that will enable greater retention and growth of existing customers.

  • Execution and effectiveness of New Hire LS and Sales training in North America.

  • Development execution and effectiveness of LS Clinical Lab Automation & Informatics training strategy in North America.

  • Perform other work related duties as assigned by Snr. Manger.

The Individual

  • Minimum Education: BS degree in Medical Technology.

  • Clinical Background: 2+ years of related experience in a clinical laboratory or equivalent experience.

  • Training Experience: 1+ years of customer, sales or LS training experience preferred.

  • Industry/Domain Knowledge: Solid Clinical Chemistry and TM market knowledge for the purpose of understanding market forces impacting the business.

  • Team Player Worker: Ability to deliver results while working in a highly matrixed and fast-paced team environment.

  • Business Acumen: Proficient at uncovering key business issues and providing insightful, actionable recommendations for improvement.

  • Communication: Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 70% overnight.

Colorado State Posting Details: This position's starting salary is between $85,000 to $170,000 per year, and it is bonus eligible. Salary will be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. Ortho offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, paid time off (including paid sick time) and paid holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and Ortho may amend, terminate or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
