Seneca Foods in Marion, NY is seeking an Infrastructure
Architect. The successful candidate will be responsible for
development and support of IT solutions enterprise wide. This
position supports 8 million square feet of warehouse operations and
our many plant locations across the country. It directly supports
our mission to feed the world safe and nutritious products that are
valued and enjoyed by families everywhere. We stand on our own by
supporting our applications portfolio and IT operations internally,
offering long-term stability while continuously investing in
technology and innovation. We are further investing in advancing IT
infrastructure to meet our business needs and looking for a
forward-thinking, solution-oriented architect to be part of a team
that enjoys a high degree of collaboration with and that is
integral with the overall business operation.
Infrastructure Architect plays a lead role in the delivery of
projects and programs driving strategic transformational change. A
key contributor to the design and implementation of highly secure
and reliable solutions across the organization.
Responsible for the overall design, implementation and integrity
of technical IT infrastructure and enterprise services across a
heterogeneous environment. Also responsible for ensuring that the
solutions are engineered in accordance with corporate architecture
and infrastructure standards and the subsequent transitioning of
projects to ongoing support.
Create, assess, and evaluate technical solutions that will
address the technical IT infrastructure Server Farms (Virtual,
Windows, and UNIX), Storage (SAN&NAS), Windows AD, Network,
Telecom, Data Center Infrastructure, and enterprise services
(Exchange, Collaboration Software, SharePoint, etc.)
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of
infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that
will increase performance, reliability, cost effectiveness and
Document and Maintain the current state of the architecture.
Document changes and new projects architecture.
Collaborate with management, staff and other departments on
Provide Technical Infrastructure support, on-call support, and
support escalated trouble tickets. Resolve issues, communicate
system requirements, and resolve integration issues. Provide
Systems Admin functions across the organization - UNIX, Windows,
Network, and Data Center.
Implementing Infrastructure projects
Researching New Infrastructure Technologies
Evaluating and Designing Technical Solutions.
Infrastructure Project Management
Collaboration on and Documenting Solutions
Broad knowledge of computer science.
System Administration skills in UNIX and Windows.
In-depth technical knowledge of the following areas: Server
technologies, virtualization technologies, Storage Area Networks,
Network Attached Storage, network and security technologies,
Windows servers, AD and desktops.
Demonstrated capacity for problem solving, synthesis, and making
sound recommendations and decisions.
Working technical knowledge of current systems software,
protocols and standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
BS in Computer Science or related field.
5 plus years of experience Senior System Administration
Experience in architecture, systems design and systems
