Job Description

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Quality Auditor (3rd Shift) to work at our processing facility in Avon, NY. Ideal candidates must be safety and quality orientated and willing to actively participate in a team orientated, fast paced work environment.

Minimum Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior manufacturing experience including performing quality testing and record keeping duties
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting of equipment including
  • Basic general safe operation of equipment.
  • Attention to detail and standards of documentation.
  • Basic math skills to include the ability to compute decimals and percentages.
  • Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using computer applications.
  • Must have demonstrated communication and documentation skills

Benefits & Compensation Overview:

  • $20.34/hour, plus:
  • A $.30 shift differential for those working on second shift.
  • A $.40 shift differential for those who working on third shift.
  • Daily Overtime for work performed in excess of 8 hours
  • Daily Double Time for work performed in excess of 12 hours

  • Ammonia systems size is approximately 95,000 lbs.
  • 493,000 sq. ft. production space on a 67 acre site.

Responsibilities & Duties:


The Auditor is a member of the Lunchables production team who is trained to perform quality assurance related tasks to ensure compliance to governmental regulations and Kraft policy. Applicant must have the skills and abilities to perform the following duties including, but not limited to, the following:

Perform pre-operative sanitation audits and daily housekeeping audits. Coordinate corrective action where necessary to ensure maximum uptime of production lines and compliance with USDA and OM Lunchables specifications. Perform bacteriological swabbing on equipment, and environmental surfaces. Assure integrity of the HACCP plan by ensuring that on line metal detectors are operating properly and verifying that component ingredient statements match approved label copy. Document and file records of same. Conduct incoming meat and raw material inspections as necessary. Perform swabbing on incoming materials as necessary. Conduct hourly weight control checks utilizing weight net computer. Conduct residual oxygen analysis on packages utilizing Mocon gas analyzer. Conduct Carbon Dioxide / Nitrogen analysis on gas mixtures using Fyrite or Mocon analyzers. Conduct seal strength analysis on packages utilizing vacuum chamber equipment. Conduct finished product evaluations (case audits). Place product on production hold as necessary. Ensure accurate and factual information regarding holds is conveyed to the Quality Systems Coordinator. Enter and track component complaint information on the component complaint log. Assist with training, problem solving, and troubleshooting as necessary. Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions Complete other projects or duties as assigned by the Quality Systems Manager or Quality Systems Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Lunchables process and must have demonstrated communication and documentation skills. The incumbent will be expected to prioritize daily workloads, interact effectively with other production and quality team members, and be capable of developing computer literacy and applying it to daily job tasks.

These are the major job functions for the QA Auditor and any other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
