Job Description:

The lead quality engineer is responsible for ensuring the flawless execution of new product launches and process changes to existing product. The lead engineer will be located at our Rochester, NY facility. The role requires effective communication with Pioneer Focus Factory and with supporting teams. Responsibilities:

• Lead new product introduction of business through APQP activities.
• Develop project timelines for APQP projects and ensure deliverables are met.
• Develops quality control and assurance methods to help satisfy project KPPs.
• Establishes the Target Yield metrics based on existing/like or new product guidelines.
• Ensures that major changes in pilot and production designs are validated before introduction using the Change Control Board process.
• Analyzes yield and parametric results to identify top contributors to defects and works with the Engineering, ME, TE, SQA and Operations personnel to continuously improve processes, drive improvements in using quality metrics, and reduce product cost.
• Performs process capability studies including Test Capability and Design/Process Capability.
• Lead Process Failure Mode and Analysis (PFMEA) and Mistake Proof Ratio (MPR) activities to identify and address assembly related errors.
• Continuously improve the NPI process through enhancement of process and procedures. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience or Graduates Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills:
    • Electronics experience is preferred.
    • Highly skilled in statistical analysis using Minitab or relevant SW and understanding of SPC and MSA.
    • Proven knowledge of leading APQP activities, minimum 5 years of experience.
    • Practical experience in use of problem-solving tools such as 8D.
    • Strong attention to detail and high verbal and written skills.
