Controls Engineer (Rochester, NY area)Client, growing provider of engineered automated material handling solutions used in the food and beverage, Aerospace, Automotive, Specialty Metals and Manufacturing marketplace, is currently hiring two Controls Engineers, Engineers will be based out of Honeoye Falls, NY office.Customers such as Corning, John Deere, Boeing, Nestle, and American Axle embrace their--innovative automated material handling solutions. These positions will lead/assist controls engineering efforts for concept, design, programming, testing, installation and commissioning for automated material handling control systems.Exceptional work ethic combined with outstanding communication skills, and team-based engineering methodology will allow incumbent --to develop complete hardware designs and PLC/Robot control programs for automated material handling systems, while owning the controls scope, schedule and budget on a project.Responsibilities and abilities required:Engine controls design efforts through concept, design, programming, testing and commissioning efforts per project requirements.Develops design documentation aligned and traceable with project contractual requirements.Effectively works with cross functional teams.Interface with customer engineering and end-user contacts during project design and implementation cycle.Develops PLC, Robot, and HMI programs and applications.Assist with the development of FAT and Field Installation documentation.Travels to site to support field efforts (up to 25-35% travel, depending on project).Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and occasionally lift 25 lbs.Qualifications and experience needed:3+ years in design of automated material handling systems and robotic handling systems (Two Mid-level, two Sr. Level, or, one Mid-level and one Sr. Level Controls Engineers will be hired).BS in Electrical, Controls Engineering or Electrical, Controls Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.Comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering design standards, including NEC, NFPA, and UL standards.Gantry, Overhead, and Stacker Crane programming and commissioning experience a plus.Automation equipment.Pallet, case, and custom conveyor programming experience.AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical design software.Rockwell Software RSLogix 500, 5000, FactoryTalk View ME/SE programming software.SIMATIC Step 7 / TIA Portal / WinCC programming software.PowerFlex 520/750 Series VF Drives, Kinetix Servo Drives.Siemens G120/S120 drive platforms.Cognex Data-Man Identification & InSight Vision systems.Fanuc Robot Controller programming and commissioning.Additional Recommended Qualifications:Inductive Automation and Wonderware HMI/SCADA software development platforms.Beckhoff PLC Programming experience a plus.Supervisory PLC control systems.Keyence Barcode Scanner and Vision Systems a plus.Data Collection & Management Systems for KPI and IIoT / Industry 4.0 data collection.If interested in joining this team, apply today!
