Description:We are seeking a PhD level or equivalent experienced materials scientist with demonstrated expertise in design, formulation and evaluation of conductive inks. Candidates with 2 to 5 years of experience will be preferred including graduate thesis work in the targeted area of conductive inks.Key Skills and Expertise:Candidate must have expertise in optimization of materials, fluids and complex formulations for deposition, functional performance and reliable function in contact printing systems. Candidate should also possess chemistry skills in order to develop component materials optimized for intrinsic characteristics but also for additional feature control in the complex formulation. The candidate should possess in-depth understanding of materials interactions and mechanisms of electro-conductive materials, be literate of the various electrical quantification methods of conductive elements and plus awareness of the tools and techniques need to measure the attributes of printed conductive elements. Working familiarity in physical chemistry, polymer chemistry, particle and dispersion science would all be beneficial knowledge Experience in the preparation of metal inks and factors that impact stability, substrate interactions, durability and reliability through the integration process would be ideal. Candidate should be a self-starter, have a track record for independent creativity and ability to communicate results through presentation and written documentation. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills as cross-collaboration other researchers, across organization boundaries and outside agencies will all be necessary. The successful candidate will be working with a team of scientists to develop methods for printing and integration of functional materials in the fabrication of conductive coatings, particularly on flexible substrates.
