Part-time Driver/ On-call Site Supervisor Rochester, NYThe OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Part-Time Driver/ On-call Site Supervisor. For the Part-Time Driver portion of this role, we need someone who can be available for 10 hours a week. The Driver will take CEO participants to and from work on a daily basis. This individual will serve as a driver for a 15-passenger van and drive participants from CEO's office in downtown Rochester to a work site located in Brockport, NY. For the On-call Site Supervisor portion of the role, this individual will support our crew support, supervise, mentor, and train work crews of 5-7 participants on an as needed basis (20-30 days per year, with potential for additional days), filling in for our regular site supervisors when they are on vacation or out sick. On-call Site Supervisors provide on the job supervision, training, and coaching to participants as they do landscaping, construction, litter removal, event set-up/tear-down, and renovation work across Monroe County. You may be the ideal candidate if you demonstrate a "can do" attitude, love driving results through teamwork, and enjoy jumping into support when needed for an organization with an impactful mission.The Driver's schedule for this position is the following:* Sunday: 9pm-10pm* Monday - Thursday: 6am-7am, 10pm-11pm* Friday: 6am-7amOn the days that this individual will cover our crew sites, they will drive participants to the sites and will be on site from 7am-3pm.Who You Are* You have a valid Class E driver's license, come to CEO with a clean driving record of at least one year and are comfortable with driving a 15 passenger van even during inclement weather.* Are are someone who is excited to supervise and mentor the work of returning citizens who are taking their first steps to employment following incarceration.* You are able to consistently lift and move objects up to 75 pounds; stand, kneel, bend, and climb in order to complete projects; work outdoors; walk, sit or stand for long periods of time; operate a smartphone.* You have experience in a vocational trade, such as landscaping, warehouse, construction, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, or a related trade.* You are interested in working for a social justice-focused, fast-paced, and results-oriented nonprofit.* You pride yourself in your ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds and experiences.* You can lead and inspire a team while balancing both compassion and a straightforward approach; an effective communicator who can resolve conflicts effectively.* You recognize the value of continuous communication, looping others into any challenges that arise; you enjoy proactively raising potential solutions when you notice an inefficiency or challenge* You can work a very flexible schedule, with being able to fill in with little notice* You are a recent retirees, independent contractors, or someone who is self-employed with a very flexible scheduleThe Nitty GrittyResponsibilities of the Driver will include but are not limited to the following:* Ensure the van is picked at the van parking location at 1 Favor St, Rochester, brought to CEO's office at 16 East Main St, Rochester to pick up participants, and arrives at the offices of Bonduelle America's Long Life (Bonduelle) at 180 State St, Brockport, NY 14420 by 9:45pm on Sundays and 10:45pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays* Pick up participants who are working at Bonduelle at 7am Monday-Friday, drop them off at CEO's office location and park the van back at the van parking location* Inform CEO staff of any unusual incidents with CEO participants in a timely manner* Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the CEO van, including being aware of the timing for the van's inspection and registration* Maintain line of sight of all participants at all times while they work on the work crew* Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations,* Complete any necessary daily reporting tasksCompensationThe compensation for this position is $18.68/hour.
