Program Director - Diversity - Supplemental Position The purpose
of the Diversity Programs Manager position is to enhance Mayo's
student population by recruiting and retaining individuals of
diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. The Diversity Programs
Manager will provide leadership to a series of activities designed
to attract minority students with exceptional academic performance
and talent into Mayo Medical School and Mayo School of Graduate
Medical Education and create and maintain programs to strengthen
the workforce pipeline into Mayo Clinic Staff. The Manager will
utilize creative strategies to develop an overall strategy,
including goals and programs designed to increase and support
diversity for students, monitor measures and assess all programs,
and recommend changes or new programs to support diversity
pipelines. The Manager will develop internal and external strategic
partnerships and provide appropriate consultation on diversity
Bachelors Degree in Education, Public Affairs, Human Resources
or other related field related.
Masters degree preferred.
Required experience (please include on resume):
Demonstrated a thorough knowledge of diversity issues,
challenges, and initiatives. Demonstrated commitment and
professional experience fostering awareness and appreciation for
diversity. Professional experience developing and managing programs
for Latino, African American and Native American students.
Experience with recruitment and retention strategies with the
targeted populations. Experience in education administration,
public service, student development, counseling, human resources or
Must have ability to handle heavy communication and
correspondences. Experience in program development and planning.
Knowledge of Windows software including databases and spreadsheets.
Excellent organizational as well as oral and written communication
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with
