Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE: To assume overall operational responsibility for Jordan Health as the CEO’s chief of staff. To assist the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with creating, communicating, executing, and sustaining Jordan Health’s strategic plan, collaborating across departments in the leadership of Jordan Health’s operations, and to develop and assist in the implementation of specific plans and measurable objectives that further Jordan Health’s short-term and long-term strategic plan. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential functions): Results #1: An annual strategic planning cycle is established and executed by: • Leading the strategy implementation process for key strategic actions. • Collaborating with the Executive Team to ensure that strategic actions are completed at all levels within Jordan Health to achieve desired results. • Demonstrating a broad understanding of Jordan Health functions outside area of expertise and • Leading the development and implementation of best-in-class common practices and strategic frameworks across all associated areas of responsibility. • Collaborating with the CEO to communicate Jordan Health strategy so that all employees understand the strategic plan and how their work connects to Jordan Health goals. Results #2: Major changes in the environment in which Jordan Health operates (e.g. business, regulatory and reimbursement) are identified and required adjustments are defined by: • Engaging external business and industry experts to learn and influence Jordan Health strategies, constantly remaining alert and forward thinking about opportunities and risks in the environment. • Acting as advisor to CEO on critical changes in the environment in which Jordan Health operates Results #3: High quality, cost effective and integrated programs are developed and executed by: • Working with the CMO and the Director of Clinical Operations to coordinate the functions of administrative operations and clinical operations • Working in support of and in coordination with the CMO on risk management activities including managing the incident and complaint reporting/resolution process, and overseeing the facilities management function • Monitoring and reporting on the overall operational health of Jordan health and collaborating with the CFO, CMO and other senior managers to incorporate financial, clinical and other measurements. • Leading the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for Jordan Health • Identifying opportunities for Jordan Health to leverage cross-program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organizational challenges. • Assisting members of the Executive team as a decision support resource, providing coaching and mentoring when requested. • Successfully concluding Jordan Health merger, acquisition, partnership, and joint ventures and similar activities. • Oversee compliance with the laws and regulations governing Jordan Health as a Federally Qualified Health Center, an Article 28 Diagnostic and Treatment Center, a New York State not-for-profit corporation, related to Jordan Health’s operations • Guide senior management, Board of Directors and the organization on matters relating to compliance, including but not limited to, updating the organization on potential and upcoming changes in law/policies 1. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: College degree required. Masters degree in Public Health or Masters in Business Administration is preferred; At least five (5) years of responsible executive level experience in health care, strategy and business development. Experience with safety net providers, managed care, and Medicaid and Medicare is highly desirable. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: None SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: • Ability to multi-task and lead multiple complex operational efforts simultaneously. • Ability to translate and communicate complex topics in a variety of forums, tailoring communications to effectively fit and influence the targeted audience; strong executive presence, presentation and communication skills. • Ability to be thoughtful and calm in high stress situations, inspiring a similar culture among colleagues and subordinates. • Well-organized and self-directed with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals across Jordan health and outside of Jordan Health. • Ability to apply a variety of strategic frameworks to analyze problems and to guide and develop solutions, with a strong understanding of business strategies and drivers. • Ability to communicate clearly, share information and serve as a coach or mentor at all levels of the Jordan Health. • Strong financial management operating experience and knowledge of business acumen, including budget and capital management. • Ability to see the "big picture" perspective and how it may affect Jordan Health administratively, financially and clinically. • Flexibility to adapt quickly to new challenges. This position requires compliance with Jordan Health’s Compliance Program, compliance Code of Conduct, and its written policies, procedures and protocols (collectively, the “Written Standards”). Such compliance will be an essential element considered as part of regular performance evaluation of the Compliance Database Librarian. Failure to comply with the Written Standards (which includes the failure to report any conduct or event that potentially violates legal or compliance requirements of the Written Standards) will be met by the enforcement of disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination of employment, in accordance with Jordan Health’s Compliance Program Policy and Procedure – Addressing Instances of Non-Compliance Through Appropriate Disciplinary Actions.
