Global Business Partnerships, a division of Mayo Collaborative
Services (MCS), will expand and grow its medical laboratory
business via inorganic, non-traditional partnerships that further
Mayo’s strategic priorities. The Global Business Partnership
Director will be responsible for: Executing JV’s, equity
investments, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, etc. in the U.S.
laboratory and diagnostics space.
Creating and implementing strategies and tactics to support MCS
overarching goals and objectives.
Driving strategic transactions including partner identification,
business structure, business planning, deal process management,
operational structuring, diligence, negotiations, and closing
Due diligence activities focused on business case development,
structure and governance, financial assessment, operating plan,
legal, regulatory, and tax assessments.
Serving as the point person for leading shared resources and
subject matter experts to include corporate development,
operations, finance, legal, and product management.
Working closely with Mayo Clinic Corporate Development during
the deal phase in order to drive value to Mayo Clinic.
Oversight of the Operationalization activities and guided by the
operational plan developed in the due diligence phase and include:
management of deal terms, management of staff, aligning internal
resources, and tracking and reporting deal profitability.
Barring COVID, up to 50% travel is required for this
Master's degree and seven years business experience including
demonstrated ability in generating new business and interacting
with senior levels of external organizations.
This position can be based in Rochester, MN or from an office in
one's home as long as the candidate is located near a major

Health care experience is preferred. Other required skills
include excellent organizational, human relations, decision-making
and problem-solving capabilities as well as excellent presentation
and communication skills. Must provide strong financial analysis,
and strategic and innovative thinking capabilities. Must have
ability and confidence to effectively function independently, be a
self-starter, a team player and have lead direct reports in
previous positions. Ability to effectively present to internal and
external groups at a high level representing the leadership of the
organization. Domestic and international travel required.
Must be accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable,
responsible, and able to perform well within multi-functional
environments. Must be able to manage people and projects
simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when
prioritizing projects while adhering to Mayo Clinic and MCS, LLC
policies and procedures. FACHE certification preferred.
License or certification
Valid drivers license required. Also requires a valid
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with
internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary is
$5,536 every two week pay period.
