The company's team members are passionate about engineering, infrastructure, and design, and understand our clients' business needs and objectives.Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking an experienced Associate Project Manager - Information Technology to join our Projects Team in Rochester, Lancaster and Binghamton New York. This position will serve as a liaison between the business area and IT staff and/or system vendors as required. Uses information received from field employees to assess impact to the business area. Assist supervision in assessing the impact, develops solutions, and documents requirements or enhancements as needed. Coordinate testing and system change for mobile devices with IT and end-users. Provides daily support to all of NY West divisions in the usage of our line crews tablets.+ Provide the first level of support to the Business Area with emphasis on various technologies used and systems deployed by that area. This includes knowledge of system operations, data retrieval, and reporting via UI standard querying and reporting tools.+ Creates and maintains process and system of tacking computer updates and provides routine reporting to supervision. + Track issues to see if we have certain computers that may need to be replaced prior to others. + Validate that all employees are using their MDTs as well as train them when there are knowledge gaps.+ Perform system administration tasks including but not limited to, application security, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, debugging, reporting, issue resolution with IT and/or system vendors.+ Work with IT on major system patches, to make sure all computers have them and work through an issue that they may cause with the other programs+ Maintain computers from the field, meet crews on-site to see if it could just be a simple fix. Provide a replacement/spare computer so work is not disrupted by an equipment malfunction+ Act as liaison and communicate effectively with business users, vendors, and IT to resolve systems/application needs and issues. Assist in assessing impacts of any application or system changes on business operations and other applications and systems.+ Coordinate system training for users. Provide training as required by the business area. Provide day-to-day support for users' questions/problems.+ Maintain all mobile devices in rotation, dock, and restart units, check to make sure no system updates are pending, clear temp files, and make sure user can log into both FWM and VSS.+ Troubleshoot connection issues, computers that are freezing and have problems getting on the network, password issues, syncing issues for both field workforce mobility and time reporting + Provides training to employees on how to use each of the work management systems, and email, how to access the information they need for benefits, how to reset passwords properly.Additional skills:+ Communication with the corporate IT office on issues, trends, and fix actions+ Application and system configuration troubleshooting+ Increasing system/device performance+ Assisting with pending updates and application installs+ Identifying connection issues with ethernet and wireless networks+ Coordinating with Site Leads for travel and personnel availability+ Initial system setup upon delivery to the sites+ Work with Site Lead and assigned personnel on-device applications+ Assist with user device efficiency with application usage (i.e.. Shortcuts)+ Maintain a knowledge base of the multiple device types used by personnel to include:+ Panasonic Toughbook+ Dell Tablet+ Android Galaxy device+ Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences and Technology or in a Business-related field.+ Experience with utility service applications, such as OMS, AVL, ARCOS, SAP, Field Workforce Mobility (FWM), Global Employee Office (e-GO), ABB VSS is desirable.+ IT Background Preferred.+ Must be self-motivated, able to handle multi-tasks with minimal supervision, and possess the temperament to deal pleasantly and efficiently with both customers and co-workers.+ Must be able to work flexible hours as determined by the local management team+ Must be capable of carrying out the essential functions of the classification+ Must be a New York resident and able to travel to various sites as needed in Upstate New YorkRequisition ID: 2022-1867 External Company Name: K Engineering Consulting PC External Company URL: Remote: No
