Fairport, NY is the headquarters for the Bosch Security Systems sales organization in the United States and serves as the primary site for research and development, engineering, quality and product management for intrusion detection systems, including state-of-the-art sensors, control panels, communicators and more Job Description Software Development Assist with the design, development, integration and testing of software systems for security system products. Write embedded software (C, C++, and python) utilizing Robot framework to automate testing and create tools to support testing and development of software/hardware. Work with product and development teams to identify test cases to meet project requirements Work in a cross-functional team environment comprised of software engineers, testers, and product managers Responsible for assigned software tasks from design through development, integration & test Verification and Troubleshooting Execute the verification of electrical, electromechanical, and software platforms Evaluate results of repeatability and reliability studies Troubleshoot product and test equipment, propose and implement fixes Engage a data driven approach to product performance, trending reports, and analysis of test results Qualifications Pursuing BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or other technology-related field. Job Requirements: Collegiate level software experience for real-time embedded systems written in C / C++ using OOP principles Collegiate level experience in new product development and product launch process Experience with unit and integration testing to include automation of test procedures Excellent analytical skills, including analysis of existing software code and utilization of software tools. Able to debug software and perform root cause analysis and clarify potential software / hardware related issues with the development team. Work independently in an organized and structured fashion; takes ownership and is self-accountable to team goals Good interpersonal skills within a cross functional team; proactive approach to communication and handling conflicts Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both a technical and non-technical audience Preferred: Knowledge of Agile development methods (Scrum, test-driven development, etc.) PC based Test Application development in C/C++/Java for interfacing and testing of embedded systems is a plus. Collegiate level experience with software development for embedded microcontrollers including Linux/Android OS Proficiency with commonly used electrical test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers etc. Knowledge of security systems concepts and products Additional Information By choice, we are committed to a diverse workforce - EOE/Protected Veteran/Disabled.
