The Field Service Engineer delivers support to our internal team and customers by providing site management, process solutions, automation solutions, and troubleshooting services. To be successful in the role, the engineer must understand both process applications and system functionality for both new and existing equipment.
Responsibilities:-- Establish and maintain a continuous positive relationship with customers, including support and follow-up on customers' concerns and problems-- Perform troubleshooting and fault-finding services on site, on line, and by phone-- Perform and execute Factory Acceptance Testing-- Perform site management, process engineering, mechanical engineering, controls and automation engineering for installation, start-up and commissioning of JCS engineered systems-- Execute site acceptance testing - partner with customer, manage and/or support startup team for this function-- Document and maintain written records of services performed on behalf of JCS Secondary Responsibilities:-- Take an active role in the problem-solving process in the following areas:o Demand service work for either remote or on-site assistance, including:- System operation evaluation- Process and instrumentation evaluation, troubleshooting and repair- Control system evaluation, troubleshooting and repairo Scheduled service work for either remote or on-site assistance, including:- Preventative maintenance- Customer site and/or process engineering evaluations-- Take an active role in project support in the following areas:o Project site management, installation, start-up and commissioning supporto Building electrical panels, checkout and testing assistanceo Process systems installation, calibration, testing and checkouto Control systems Installation, calibration, testing and checkout-- Promote and maintain good business relationships with our customers and vendors-- Seek out career development opportunities in areas such as:o PLC trainingo Instrument trainingo Process trainingo Controls training-- Seek out continuous improvement opportunities with both internal and external processes
