  • Respects and maintains customer confidentiality. Demonstrates a positive and caring attitude towards all customers and staff
  • Prepares bi-weekly payrolls for corporations under the DePaul Umbrella. This includes collecting all related information, calculating new hires pay, changes, terminations, and tracking deductions.
  • Accurately inputs payroll data into Payroll System and Time & Attendance system. This includes permanent and one-time changes, updates to the database, and edits in time and attendance system.
  • Responsible for computing manual checks and insuring manual checks are entered into the Payroll system. Responsible for processing stop payments and insuring that they are entered in system.
  • Oversees garnishees. Receives income executions, notifies staff, and tracks deductions.
  • Responsible for year-end procedures for corporations that they process payroll for. (Ex. all year-end adjustments are entered so payroll service can process W2's).
  • Prepares Payroll Reconciliation.
  • Creates and updates SHEAR for timecards and PTO.
  • Sorts and distributes paychecks.
  • Runs standard payroll reports and creates reports for Accounting or Program Directors.
  • Proofs other DePaul payrolls.
  • Prepares PTO statements and distributes, also does any follow-up needed for statements.
  • Assists with input on Payroll side when new sites are added.
  • Checks employee database against Medicaid Fraud Registry.
  • Serves as backup to others in the payroll department.
  • Assists Accounting with payroll account reconciliation.
  • Serves as a resource for staff, responding promptly and courteously to requests and concerns.
  • Performs other duties as needed.


    Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in Payroll.

    Other: Microsoft office experience, accounting skills, Paychex experience preferred, excellent communications skills, detail oriented, flexibility and ability to multi-task.
