Job Description Job Description Job Title Inbound Customer Returns Shifts: Monday-Friday 6am-3pm Monday-Friday 1pm-10pm Pay Rate: First shift $20/HR Second Shift $22/HR Summary: Material Handlers are the personnel physically inspecting returned product. Their observations and accuracy directly drive downstream system transactions, discrepancy resolution, and customer communication. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and accountability. The Administrative role is responsible for validating inspection data, executing system transactions, and managing communications with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders. This role requires high accuracy, strong communication skills, and confidence working across functions. Tasks & Duties (What you'll do) Receive inbound customer returns and properly stage product for inspection Perform general visual inspections of returned products (not technical repair or testing) Confirm part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and condition Identify obvious damage, missing components, or non-conformances Accurately document inspection findings and provide complete information Compare physical product to accompanying documentation to flag discrepancies Escalate issues, inconsistencies, or unclear conditions per defined processes Follow all SOPs, quality requirements, and handling guidelines consistently. Perform all required system transactions related to inbound customer returns Identify and report discrepancies or non-conformances Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with defined processes and timeline Escalate issues appropriately and provide clear, fact-based updates Knowledge of international shipping rules and requirements Qualifications (Requirements/Skills) Strong attention to detail and ability to notice inconsistencies Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to accurately read, interpret, and record part numbers and serial numbers Comfortable working with basic systems or inspection documentation Comfortable interacting with customers and stakeholders Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with operations Organized, methodical, and process-driven Experience with WMS/ERP systems Critical thinking skills — able to pause, question, and escalate when something does not align Sense of ownership and care for the quality of work performed About Ascend Staffing Ascend Staffing has been connecting great people with real opportunities for over 50 years.
