Job Description:

We are a Taqueria + Mezcal Bar. Our mission is to provide our clientele with a unique experience thru great, fresh food and outstanding personal service.. We are seeking for a new Chef to join our team. Your role will be to - Help lead our group of young chefs into a well oiled machine capable of producing great, fresh food in a consistent way and timeliness. - Research and create new menu items. - Help create an environment conducive to cleanliness, creativity and job satisfaction. - Place produce, meat and dry goods orders. As a member of the Back of the House department, you will work with your team members and report to our Owner. What You Will Do: Ensure kitchen processes are updated and upheld Make sure kitchen equipment is in good condition and maintained Uphold cleanliness standards and practices Interact with fellow chefs and ownership in order to research and create new menu items Recruit, teach and train back of the house staff Make sure all inventories are kept at acceptable levels Any other task that will ensure production and cleanliness. What You Will Bring: Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills: High School or GED Recipe Development Cooking Menu Planning Food Safety Food Handling Sanitation Food Preparation Knife Skills Fryer Grilling Scratch Cooking Why You'll Love Us: We are a taqueria...with a twist. At first glance, our menu looks Mexican: tacos, burritos, enchiladas, nachos. But look closer and you'll spot creative items like our Nashville taco, the suadero taco and the very popular fried chicken sandwich. We're not the prototypical Mexican restaurant, we serve food we grew up with. It is food from Mexico influenced by ingredients and recipes we have got to like in our culinary journey. We are always looking forward to that "next dish in our menu". We believe in providing our guests with great food and drink while dining in a friendly casual atmosphere. We work together to achieve our goals, we are hands on, we take care of our coworkers so that in turn they take care of our patrons. We believe in the strength of family, we are closed on Sundays so that we have the opportunity to spend it with family and/or friends. We are up and coming, we are looking for that person that will help us take the next step on our journey. Salary range for this position is $37,500 - $52,000 per year.
