RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • Work in Medical Surgical
Telemetry unit with 27 beds and daily census of 27 patients •
Patient ratios: Day/Evening 5:1 (stretch 6-7), Night 6-7:1 (stretch
8-10 if staff calls in) • Every other weekend required • Block
scheduling available but not guaranteed • Float required to MS, ED,
ICU (stable patients), acute brain injury (stable patients) • Must
have mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement • Care
for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac disease, stroke,
infection, pain, and PE • Work with special equipment including
bladder scanners, telemetry, EKG machines, and lifepacks • Required
certifications: BLS, NIHSS • Required skills: MS/Tele,
interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response team
use, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, oxygen
administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation
precautions/PPE, phlebotomy • EPIC charting experience is a hard
requirement • NY license required in hand to submit • 1 year of
recent experience required • First time travelers accepted • Dress
code: Navy blue/white scrubs • Candidates within 75 miles of
facility not accepted • Modules are required pre-start and billable
up to 5 hours • Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams,
physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services,
radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy,
transportation, and unit secretary Facility: This healthcare
facility operates a 27-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
providing comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients. The
facility maintains high standards for nursing competencies and
requires all RNs to demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy and IV
placement. The organization utilizes EPIC charting systems and
provides extensive interdisciplinary support services to ensure
quality patient care across multiple specialties including cardiac,
stroke, and infection management. Location: Rochester, NY Rochester
