Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/10/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: /n Registered Nurse - PCU /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 4x12 night shifts /n• Every other weekend coverage required /n• Patient ratios: 3:1 during days, 4:1 during nights, 3:1 on weekends /n• Must be able to handle 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg when floating /n• Float to ICU or medical-surgical units as needed /n• 24-hour orientation provided /n• Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions /n• Must be located more than 75 miles from facility /n• EPIC charting experience required /n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS /n• 1 year of experience required, travel experience preferred /n• Previous charge experience preferred /n• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white /n• Care for adult and geriatric patients requiring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring /n• Manage patients with airway management needs, acute BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines /n• Handle titrated medicated IV infusions, blood product administration, and vasoactive drips /n• Perform cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias /n• Provide respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management /n• Complete pre-start modules (up to 10 hours total, 5 hours billable) /n/n Facility: /n This tertiary care hospital operates a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) serving as a critical care step-down unit. The facility features 528 total staffed beds and provides specialized care for patients requiring more intensive monitoring than general medical-surgical units but less than ICU level care. The unit receives patients from various departments including Emergency, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors, with a focus on pulmonary patients.
