Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in New York with Epic charting experience and a NY RN license required. Responsibilities - Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting - Care for primarily cardiac patients with telemetry monitoring - Ratios are 5:1 during days/evenings and 6-7:1 at night, may stretch higher if needed - Support from PCTs for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living - In-house phlebotomy team manages peripheral lab draws; nurses manage PICC and central lines - Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00) - Every other weekend is required - Floating to like units is required - Epic EMR is used and prior experience is required - No on-call requirements - Responsibilities include management of telemetry cardiac patients and responding rapidly to changes in patient condition - Nurses are responsible for care and management of PICC and central lines and implementing isolation precautions - First-time travelers are accepted for this position - Return staff must have a gap of at least 1 year since prior employment - Scrub colors must be a combination of navy and white - Maximum of 1 week of requested time off (RTO) is permitted per contract - Holiday and weekend shifts are required as scheduled - Pre-start online modules may be required Requirements - Active NY RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required - BLS certification required - Experience with Epic charting system required - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias - Experience with rapid response teams, peripheral line care, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management - Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position - Pending license not accepted Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-666814.
