Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/24/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) night shift position requiring a NY RN license and at least one year of experience. Responsibilities - Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) within a hospital setting - Provides care to adult, acute care patients requiring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring - Handles patients from the Emergency Department, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors - Night shift position, working 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00 - Every other weekend required - Patient assignment ratios between 1:5 and 1:7 for MedSurg cases - Must be able to float to other units as required - Epic EMR experience required - Daily responsibilities include care for patients needing airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial and central line management, and titrated medicated IV infusions - Must follow isolation precautions and emergency response procedures - Multidisciplinary team structure provides support for patient care - First-time travelers are accepted for this position - Applicants must live at least 75 miles from the facility - Allowed to wear any navy and white scrub combination - Holiday coverage as required by unit scheduling - Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start Requirements - Active NY RN license in hand required - Minimum of one year RN experience in a relevant setting - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required - Experience with cardiac monitoring, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias - Must have experience with IV therapy, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management - Epic charting experience is a hard requirement Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-664872.
