Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced
Emergency Department RN with EPIC proficiency and an active NY RN
license for an adult ER position with a rotating schedule.
Responsibilities - Work in the adult Emergency Department of a
hospital setting - Patient population includes adults and
geriatrics with all emergency type diagnoses - Nurse-to-patient
ratio is 1:5 - Day/night rotation with 12-hour shifts (7a-7p and
7p-7a) for an 8-week contract - Every other weekend is required -
Must be available to work every other holiday if needed - Floating
within the nurse's skillset is required - Special equipment used
includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling
equipment - Uses Epic EMR, prior experience is required -
Responsibilities include emergency patient triage, trauma care,
neuro assessment, and isolation precautions - Must follow scrub
color requirements: any combination of navy blue and white -
First-time travelers are accepted - Candidates must live more than
75 miles from the facility to be eligible - Pre-employment modules
must be completed prior to start and may take up to 10 hours -
Candidates must submit all time off requests at the time of
application Requirements - Active New York single state RN license
in hand (NY is not a compact state) - Minimum of 1 year recent
Emergency Department RN experience - Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
certifications - EPIC charting experience is required - IV therapy,
blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy,
starting and maintaining IVs, and administration of IV vasopressors
- Experience with CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, and emergency
care for trauma, neuro, and cardiac cases - Ability to interpret
