Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Special Procedures Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 02/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: /n SMH IR Rad Tech - SMH /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 5x8 hour day shifts with on call/callback/holiday coverage per unit needs /n• Select exposure factors and position patients to consistently produce diagnostic quality radiologic images /n• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist radiologists during procedures /n• Demonstrate competence and proficiency in operation of all equipment and report malfunctions to manager or lead /n• Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner and assist with room turnover between procedures /n• Maintain medication security to authorized personnel only /n• Provide healthcare services competently to patients of all age groups /n• Demonstrate competency in Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS /n• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities when warranted /n• Maintain confidentiality using personal password and all patient care modules /n• Answer telephone inquiries of a technical nature from physicians and hospital personnel /n• Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) /n• Two years of experience required /n• NYS License required (or ability to obtain prior to start) /n• VIR Certified preferred /n• Current technician license accepted in the state of NY /n/n Facility: /n This major academic medical center features a comprehensive Interventional Radiology department equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology and advanced procedural capabilities.
