Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/15/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring Epic experience and a current NY RN license. Responsibilities - Position is on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting - Night shift schedule with four 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00 - Patient ratios are 6-7:1 at night, may stretch to 8-10:1 if staff calls in - Patient population includes cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and unmanaged diabetes cases - Travelers will float within scope to like units including ED boarders, ICU (stable), Med/Surg, and acute brain injury (stable patients) - Required every other weekend shifts - No on-call responsibilities - Equipment used includes telemetry, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and Lifepaks - Epic is used for charting and Epic experience is mandatory - Personal Care Technicians support with vitals, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and daily living activities - In-house phlebotomy team performs peripheral lab draws - Nursing responsibilities include management of central and PICC lines - Maximum of 1 week requested time off permitted per contract - No candidates residing within a 75-mile radius will be considered - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Scrubs must be a combination of navy and white - Holiday coverage may be required as part of the rotating schedule - Facility call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment - Pre-assignment online modules must be completed before start and may require up to 10 hours Requirements - Active NY RN license in hand is required - Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience - Current BLS certification required - Epic EMR experience is required for consideration - Skill in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Experience with rapid response teams, peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, and the use of nasal cannulas and portable oxygen Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627903.
