You make a positive difference every single day in the lives of our patients, their family members and visitors - going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect and compassion. -General Medical Unit - 43004300 is a 20 bed, medical surgical unit with the additional specialty of Peritoneal Dialysis. This unit caresfor general medical patients with varying conditions and any patient who requires peritoneal dialysis (PD) during their hospital admission. All RN & LPNs are required to become PD competent through our hospital training course. RRH reimburses or pays for this competency for our nurses. Nursing staff are responsible for assessing patients, passing medications, and following provider orders for patient specific tasks. 4300 is a wonderful unit to start or continue your nursing career as you will see a variety of medical conditions, treatment plans, and nursing skills. We provide multidisciplinary support with daily care team rounding and geographically assigned teams.STATUS: -Full TimeLOCATION: Unity HospitalDEPARTMENT: -General Medical Unit - 4300SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings 7a-7p or -Evenings/Nights 7p-7a; Every other weekend & holiday. - - - - - - -ATTRIBUTES:

    • Patient Care & Service. Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; performing various treatment procedures; providing physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members
    • Planning & Communication. Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patient's unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed; maintain effective communication to convey patient health status, treatment plans and progress
    • Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management. Demonstrate proficient use of an EHR - including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication
    • Compliance. Adhere to required department and system protocols, regulations (local, state, federal) and education requirementsEDUCATION:AS: Nursing (Required)LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: -BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
