The Opportunity

As the company continues to grow we are seeking a Laboratory Technician II for our Equipment Manufacturing facility. The Laboratory Technician II will test a variety of instruments per established work instructions for a new Medical Device Manufacturing line. The Laboratory Technician II will be responsible for all aspects of preparing and maintaining the work area, running primary tests, reliability test runs, release test protocols, and quality of finished product.

This position is in Rochester, NY.

The Responsibilities

* Perform thermal, read system, and metered volume Primary tests.

* Perform reliability test runs per product mix.

* Run functional and performance test fixtures.

* Calibrate and run release test marker assays and disposition for customer use.

* Clean the system in preparation for shipment.

* Follow good documentation practices and protocols for medical devices.

* Learn from lead trainer and meet training requirements for each test area.

* Maintain and use Lab Equipment in a safe manner.

* Follow electrostatic discharge protocols including foot, wrist, and jacket protection.

* Follow and promote ergonomic safe practices.

* Follow standardization model and test cadence.

* Knowledge of ISO and Good Manufacturing practices for Medical Devices.

* Setup and maintain a clean work area.

Job Deliverables

* Deliver assigned tasks to a project plan timeline.

* Work effectively across disciplines and with functional partners.

* Contributing team member willing to flex between project and operations deliverables.

The Individual

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Clinical Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or equivalent.

* Minimum 2 years of laboratory environment experience.

* Medical device experience a plus.

* Detail orientated and quality minded.

* Knowledgeable in Microsoft suite of computer programs and basic computer applications.

* Active team member with can do attitude.
