Blood Bank Technologist II OR Clinical Laboratory Technologist Opening at one of upstate New York's top hospitals! This hospital is known for its health research programs as well as specialty programs that consistently rank among the best in the nation according to US News & World Report. Among those services are organ transplant, trauma and burn care, neonatal intensive care unit, comprehensive neuromedicine, cardiology and cancer service.

This hospital is looking to hire a permanent and full time blood bank technologists on either evening or night shift (with some flexibility- potential for days). The Blood Bank Technologist accurately performs, interprets and carefully documents all technical Blood Bank procedures necessary for the appropriate and safe transfusion therapy of all patients. These duties include serologic testing, component preparation and issue, and computer documentation of work, quality control and preventive maintenance of equipment. The technologist generally works independently, organizing work to meet patient load. The Blood Bank technologist maintains job competence through in-house and other available continuing education. For consideration, applicants MUST have his or her NYS license in addition to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology (or related field). MT, MLS ASCP certification also strongly preferred.
