SUMMARY As a Registered Nurse (RN), youre the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. The Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit at Unity Hospital is a two hall, 37 bed Unit. Specializing in the care of complex pulmonary patients that require mechanical and non-invasive ventilation for airway issues. Care for complex pulmonary patients include but is not limited to; high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy, aersol tracheostomy mask, mechanical ventilation for tracheostomy patients, non-invasive ventilation for airway support, insulin columnar infusions, heparin infusions, Lasix infusions, and more.The Pulmonary Progressive Care Unit (41/4200) offers:

  • 4:1 or Patient to Nurse Ratios
  • Nurses will care for every kind of patient from medical, surgical, oncology, pulmonary, cardiac, etc This Unit will give you a chance to become a well-rounded clinician.
  • 24/7 Respiratory Therapy Support
  • 4 in room monitors for vented patientsSTATUS: Full Time DEPARTMENT: Pulmonary Progressive CareSCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night, Every Other Weekend/Holiday ATTRIBUTES

      • Patient Care & Service. Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; performing various treatment procedures; providing physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members
      • Planning & Communication. Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patients unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed; maintain effective communication to convey patient health status, treatment plans and progress
      • Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management. Demonstrate proficient use of an EHR including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication
      • Compliance.
