    • Employee Referral ProgramJoin our exceptional team and be greater than you imagined!SUMMARYThe Unit Assistant performs clerical, housekeeping, and non-clinical resident activities as assigned or required by unit workload. Serves as an informational resource for non-clinical information for patient/resident, visitors and RRH personnel. All Unit Assistants are required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, including 2 weekend shifts per month. This position is intended to provide a per diem, entry-level opportunity to candidates interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Unit Assistants will work 6-8 weeks in the UA role, with observation of work performance to gain referral into the Rochester Regional Health CNA training programSTATUS: Per DiemLOCATION: All Monroe County LTC facilitiesDEPARTMENT: Long Term CareSCHEDULE: Per DiemATTRIBUTES
      • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including telephone etiquette
      • Sound judgment, organizational skills and ability to prioritize
      • Detail- and service-orientedRESPONSIBILITIES
        • Daily Administration & Maintenance. Assist nurse in obtaining complete information on requisitions or consults; notify nurse and other departments regarding pertinent information (e.g., infection control or other precautions, allergies or similar information); participate in the orientation of new personnel to the unit; maintain office/forms/supply inventory as needed
        • Patient Care. Coordinate patient/resident care activities on the unit, including admission, discharge, tests and procedures; serve as an informational resource; provide a safe and clean environment in resident rooms; assist with implementation of residents' care plan as needed
        • Documentation. Prepare/audit medical records to ensure appropriate forms are completed for patient surgery and/or special proceduresEDUCATION LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Rochester Regional Health is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
