Laboratory and Pilot Plant ManagerCompany: Li-Cycle Corp.Location: Rochester, New YorkJob Summary:Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, the Laboratory and Pilot Plant Manager will be responsible for set up and operation of the analytical and sample preparation laboratory for our operations in Rochester, New York as well as overseeing the co-located hydrometallurgical pilot plant.Our ideal candidate will be a driven individual with high attention to detail and organization, and a positive can-do attitude.Primary Responsibilities:Lead the design and set up of a new analytical and sample preparation laboratory at Li-Cycles Rochester operations.Define the requirements of the new analytical and sample preparation laboratory and liaise with Li-Cycle management, Li-Cycle R&D engineers, architects, equipment vendors, etc. to ensure that the laboratory meets the Rochester operations requirements.Negotiate and manage contracts with 3rd party lab equipment and service providers, as required.Ensure all applicable regulatory standards are met and necessary certifications are obtained.Oversee effective laboratory operations, including documentation of laboratory procedures, training of staff, housekeeping, safety, and environmental practices.Supervise co-located hydrometallurgical pilot plant including staffing, scheduling, and technical oversight.Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers for all purchasing and training needs.Manage inventory of chemicals and supplies, as required.Supervise laboratory and pilot plant technicians and operators.Maintain excellent records of all test work.
