Job Description:
L3Harris Corporation, Tactical Communications, is seeking a
talented and knowledgeable Engineering Manager who will lead radio
accessory product design/development for a team of scientists,
engineers and technicians. This person will manage the team, the
project portfolio, and the budget. They must interface daily with
other support groups: mechanical engineering, supply chain,
manufacturing, product line management, program management,
suppliers and other L3Harris sectors and segments. This is an
opportunity to take a leadership role in the product development
and introduction of tactical radio accessories.
The Accessory Engineering Manager is responsible for the design,
development and integration of internally developed and/or OEM
networking, intercom, power, battery, charger, antenna, audio, or
radio remote-control products used with L3Harris radios and
systems. As part of these OEM integration efforts, the Manager will
lead a team to review supplier technology, prepare technical
documents, gather requirements, develop use cases, create and
execute verification and validation plans in conjunction with radio
hardware and software engineers in the design, development and
troubleshooting of radio systems. The Accessory Engineering
Manager's team may also design or help design the electronics
and/or circuitry of the accessory or radio component under
development.
Preferred Qualifications:
--- Follows L3Harris processes and procedures to design, validate
and sustain a portfolio of Accessory products in support of DoD and
International Radio Programs throughout the lifecycle of the
products: from design to implementation to obsolescence.
--- Collaborates and communicates with management, internal teams,
manufacturing, and suppliers worldwide regarding manufacturing
status, project progress, and issue resolution.
--- Participate in product and process e3 cost reduction and
product improvement efforts.
--- Manages a team of 5 to 10 employees, including performance
reviews, salary management, and hiring
--- May personally manage a few new product development projects
through the full product lifecycle
--- Manages IRAD and EAID budgets, capital items, and a lab
--- Provides accurate estimates (BOEs), planning of work, and
execution of product development plans or test plans
