If this sounds like you, we invite you to read on and learn more.*Position Summary: *The *Senior Quality Manager *reports to the Vice President of Rochester Operations and is a member of the local senior leadership staff. The Senior Quality Manager is responsible to develop, implement, prioritize, and communicate the company's quality strategy and its quality programs, including product quality assurance, design for manufacturability, ISO requirements, and on a broader basis, total quality management throughout the organization with a strong focus on continuous improvement. This position will serve as the primary driver in providing quality management leadership at the Rochester site and will also serve as a senior member of our Global Quality Management Team. The role will be responsible for organizing, planning, implementing, and controlling a quality assurance program with the ultimate goal of delivering a 100% quality product to our customers while reducing overall manufacturing costs. This will be done by identification and elimination of: recurrent defects, re-inspection, defect escapes, customer complaints, warranty claims, and process variation reduction. This role requires a high level of collaboration with our Supply Chain, Engineering and Manufacturing organizations to design, develop and sustain world-class business processes.*Job Responsibilities: ** Lead and direct Quality Engineering, Inspection Lab and Calibration functions.* Own and drive the reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metric: Establish and direct the Strategy Deployment objectives for quality, determine key strategic quality planning elements, and organize quality goals and objectives into annual and long range plans.Actively manage and identify improvement priorities for the organization utilizing the timely and accurate analysis of data.Manage all elements of external supplier quality including Supplier Quality Engineering.Establish and/or improve monitoring measures for key elements related to quality goal attainment. Analyze and report product and process quality trends and quality system integrity against company goals and objectives.Act as a promoter and champion of Company's quality standards.* Drive process improvementFacilitate the incorporation of Lean tools and Continuous Improvement methodologies into daily activities.Facilitate Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings and coordinate OSAR (Supplier, Internal, & Customer) resolution for the site.Ensure the continued effective implementation of foundational quality systems (ISO) such as Management Review, Internal/External Audits, Process Control, Corrective and Preventive Action.* Coordinate resources to support triage of non-conforming product (internally and externally).* Coordinate priorities of project initiatives that require IT support.* Develop annual operating budgets for areas within responsibility.* Assist in the development and tracking of quality-related training programs for all employees (new and existing) and ensure curriculum is up-to-date.* Personnel management including career planning, organizational structure, performance appraisals and documentation.*Supervisory Responsibilities: *The person in this role carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.*Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): ** High process orientation with strong data analysis and system skills.* Able to build a strong team of talented players, developing bench strength at all levels, providing increased capabilities to the business.* Understand basic product functions and applications of all products/equipment and the customer satisfaction drivers.* Expert-level Lean knowledge and proven implementation of Standard Work, Variation Reduction, Problem Solving and Mistake Proofing in a manufacturing environment.* Owned or had responsibility for definition of Critical to Quality characteristics (CTQ's) and control requirements in a highly complex product design environment.* Strong working knowledge of Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).*Preferred Education/Training/Experience: ** Bachelor's Degree in engineering or business required, MBA or Master's degree desired.* Prior management experience in an engineering role (mechanical, electrical, etc.) is highly desirable.* A track record of success in driving significant quality improvements while reducing direct / indirect costs.
