Job DescriptionPosition SummaryAs the Procurement Operations
Manager, you will provide leadership to a team of 5+ buying
professionals and be the Site Business Partner lead for several
bottling sites. You will lead your team to ensure inbound supply of
dry-goods is delivered on-time and in full. You will also be
responsible for working with functional counterparts to develop the
strategic buying plan to strike the right balance between supply
stability and lowest total acquisition cost. The manager will also
support quality in driving supplier material quality issue
resolution.This role works closely with internal cross functional
teams such as quality, supply planning and production to enable
manufacturing footprint shifts and align the buying plan with
production, supply plans and strategic sourcing initiatives. The
manager will be responsible for assessing purchase order accuracy,
ordering the right amount to minimize inventory obsolescence and
leading the team to improve supplier on time and in-full delivery
performance. The manager will also partner with the Procurement
Manager of Projects and Analytics to implement best practices to
drive continuous improvement and efficiencies in the buying
process.Responsibilities
- Develop and utilize historical demand models to inform the
strategic buying plan
- Establishing procurement order streams to match supply and
production plans
- Provide guidance and support the buying team to ensure orders
are placed to ensure delivery of critical materials to sustain
winery operations
- Manage supplier performance to ensure timely deliveries and
quality compliance
- Manage, develop, and mentor a team of buying professionals
- Develop, utilize and report performance to metrics for
measuring and improving business performance
- Manage contract compliance for key categories of spend and
suppliers
- Lead buying team to resolve payment issues with suppliers and
accounts payable
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand, develop and
monitor KPIs to drive continuous improvement
- Reduce dry goods waste and obsolescenceMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University majoring
in supply chain, finance, engineering or a business-related field
or equivalent working experience.
- 3+ years of experience required in procurement or supply chain
planning
- 4+ years managing a team
- 2+ years of Supplier Relationship Management (i.e. root cause
evaluation, corrective action implementation and supplier score
carding)
- Strong leadership and communication (written & verbal)
skills
- Knowledge of total cost of acquisition and budgeting
- Demonstrated aptitude to solve problems and take
initiative
- Strong critical thinker and ability to operate
independently
- Ability to build effective partnerships with stakeholders
(production planning, quality, etc.)
- A familiarity with MRP, JD Edwards' ERP and SAP ERP
systems
- Deep understanding of Procurement to Pay processes
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Access, PowerPoint,
Project etc.Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Graduate level studies preferred
- Change management experience
- Intermediate understanding of Sales and Operations Planning
processes
- Deep understanding of production planning and or supply
planning processes
- Lean / Green Belt Certification
- APICS certification a plus
- Experience with ERP/MRP, Master Planning, Supply Planning,
and/or Finite Scheduling highly preferred.
- Project management leadership experience a plus.
- Process improvement & demonstrated results turn-around a
plus.
- Customer management skills and experience a plus.
- Experience in utilizing a Supply Planning system (JDA or SAP a
plus) and an integrated ERP system (JD Edwards or SAP a
plus).Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and
work on a computer for extended periods. Lifting may be required.
